EL-22 is a medium molecular weight flame retardant that is primarily used in flexible polyurethane foams. Its improved resistance toward hydrolysis makes it suitable for both polyester and polyether polyol-based polyurethane foams.
The other specificity of EL-22 lies in its high purity and extremely low content of low molecular weight by-products that are often encountered in similar flame retardants.
As a result, EL-22 has a very low odour and provides superior VOC performance to the polyurethane foam.
Examples of fire standards that can be met using PhireGuard EL- 22 are UL 94, Cal TB 117 parts A and D, FMVSS 302.
